Digital Trends in Language and Literature & Dana Inspirasi Malaysia
I had the pleasure to officiate International Conference on Language and Literature (ICLL 2020). It was jointly organised by Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Human Sciences of IIUM, Western Sydney University, Australia & Jinan University, China.
It was attended by 150 presenters coming from 16 different countries. It was a great event of this high diversity. The theme of the conference was equally impressive. The time has come to see how digital technology co-relates with language & literature. In my speech, I have mentioned that machine learning which is based on Natural Language Processing (NLP) & Natural Language Generation (NLG) has already penetrated not only hard sciences but also humanities and languages.
In the world of academia, some of us are still sceptics & worried about the rise of robotic technology or smart algorithm in the era of IR 4.0 that may dilute humanity & human values. I was worried too. Now I am a practitioner of IR 4.0 in big way. I am convinced that ignorance will surely lead us to decline and backwardness. Intelligence may however cut both ways; good and bad values. Dont kill the knowledge for its bad impact as the same knowledge can be used to empower people.
After the event, I had a meeting in KL over a nice Japenese food & the theme of fintech and finance. Interesting discussion amongst colleagues. Yes, there are many disruptors to traditional practices in many areas. I mooted the idea of 'disrupting the disruptors' as the way forward. I will enligthen this later at the right time. I started reading heavily on this matter.

Banyak soalan yang diajukan; kenapa dan bila timbul idea ini, jumlah sumbangan yang terkumpul, berapa ramai yang sudah memohon; bolehkah YaPEIM menyantuni semua yang memohon dan pelbagai lagi. Bahagian II lebih kritis; adakah dana ini boleh sustainable (lestari); apa sebenarnya peranan yang ingin dimainkan oleh YaPEIM & apa visi agung YaPEIM. Nanti cetakan media.
